Dermal fillers plump up the skin, offering a non-surgical solution for loss of volume, sagging and deepening folds. They can also be used to produce contoured cheekbones, added to the chin and/or jaw lines to tighten, lift and balance the lower face. At LYFT Medical Aesthetics, my goal is to give you the youthful, even appearance you desire. That means identifying and balancing the right treatment options to deliver the most effective outcome possible.
Most modern dermal fillers are made with Hyaluronic Acid (HA), something that occurs naturally in your skin.
As we age, our natural HA production decreases. This results in a loss of volume and elasticity in the skin. The visible outcome is an increase in wrinkles and folds.
Injecting HA under the skin fills the space, plumping and smoothing the treated area. HA also attracts water, which replenishes moisture in your skin.
Better still, recent research suggests that HA-based fillers may even encourage natural collagen production in your skin.
Dermal fillers are nearly instant. You will start to see results immediately after your injections. Fillers can take up to 2-4 weeks to fully heal and reveal optimal results.
YES! Drink plenty of water to enhance the effect of the Hyaluronic Acid (HA) filler. HA attracts and absorbs water, giving a fuller plumping effect.
You must avoid putting pressure on the treated area for 24 - 48 hours. That means no ski or swim goggles. Ski helmets that put pressure on the sides of the face should also be avoided.
In Ontario, dermal fillers and other injectable cosmetic treatments can only be performed by a doctor or a nurse who also has additional, required training. I am a registered practical nurse and afully certified cosmetic injector.I perform all the treatments at LYFT Medical Aesthetics.
